With a relationship that is core-attitude incompatible (for instance, a Pollyanna and an Oscar-the-Grouch) the individual that understands the power of the mind is the one that can intentionally create peace and harmony in the relationship.
In other words, the one that is willing to intentionally apply the law of attraction to improve the relationship is the one that will ultimately be the cause of that experience.
Of course, there’s a couple of catches!
When we choose to change or grow our relationship, we must do this by being willing to first, accept the relationship as it is; without exception and without an attachment to the change we desire. I’ll explain why this is true, shortly.
Second, it’s important to remember that there’s always a price and a pay-off to every change. When we choose to intentionally change a relationship, we can ultimately attract our ideal relationship (even from within the one we have) but not without change.
Therefore, be open, willing, and prepared for changes. It may not come in the package or form that we originally planned. Remember, there are two creators involved here and therefore compromise, flexibility and growth will be required on both sides. This is true whether both parties are aware of the intentions of the other or not.
Now, getting back to the first catch, you must apply the law of detachment by accepting that your mate may never change and be willing to be at peace with this exactly as it stands, forever.
Making peace with your reality is the art of detachment. Practicing detachment does not mean you are giving up on your desire for a more harmonious relationship.
Quite the contrary, you are giving up on your desire to have your mate be someone they are not. You keep the desire for harmony and that becomes your magnetic beacon.
By focusing on the essence of harmony and calling that into your experience, you literally inspire those around you to act, be, and do things that are in alignment with that harmony. And, you inspire yourself to not be present when this isn’t the case.
You are, through the intentional act of surrendering to what is, exchanging attachment for detachment, resentment for forgiveness and rejection for love.
Therefore, if you want to inspire changes within your relationship, choose to surrender to loving it just the way it is.
Then, begin to put your focus, attention, and intention on the love, harmony, optimism, fun, adventure, connection, passion, etc. that you want to experience at the core of your being.
By imagining that you experience these things within the relationship every day, you create a wave of magnetic energy that ripples through your home. Your loved ones will literally feel inspired to ride that wave and in a boomerang fashion return the love you are sending out, as if they no longer want to present their ‘negative’ face but instead feel compelled to be more harmonious around you.
Recently, a friend had a major breakthrough with her relationship with her in-laws. It required a great deal of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), creative visualization and a willingness to love them exactly as they are.
She used EFT to eliminate her picture of how they are, including her belief that they were disrespectful and indifferent to her needs and that they were and always would be selfish, self-righteous and overbearing. She then used a great deal of creative visualization to implant into the Infinite Mind what she wanted instead: kind, considerate, respectful, honoring in-laws that she enjoyed and appreciated.
Here’s her miracle email:
“Just wanted to pass along some awesome news!! My husband’s parents returned home from vacation this week and they came to dinner last night at our house. Not only was it really wonderful and comfortable and easy and fun…Guess who washed their hands before holding the baby?!?! Talk about progress! Woo-hoo!” THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!” – H.
This email is a miracle because only a few short weeks ago, she would have preferred to never see them again, let alone endure an entire dinner!
She used the power of the law of attraction to literally empower the relationship to have the energy of love, respect, and harmony all on its’ own.
Every relationship experience is caused by our thoughts, emotions and our expectations.
Therefore, to change our relationship experience we must change our thoughts and emotions and expectations of the relationship.
We want to choose whether to use emotional scribbling or emotional sparkle to inspire our ideal relationship from within the one we have.
If we are reacting to what is, then we are using emotional scribbling to draw our relationship masterpiece.
If we are intentional, conscious, and focused on love and acceptance, peace and joy, then we are using emotional sparkle to draw our relationship masterpiece.
In summary, here are the steps:
1) Be willing to love and accept your mate exactly as they are even if they never change.
2) Decide what you want in the relationship and focus on the essence of that desire (peace, love, harmony, beauty, joy, passion, etc.)
3) Begin to give what you want in the relationship. If you want more love, start giving more love. If you want more peace, start being more at peace.
4) Use emotional freedom technique (EFT) or some other forgiveness tool to eliminate the doubts, fears, and resentments from your past in order to free yourself from any self-sabotaging thoughts or expectations.
5) Imagine that you already have the very thing that you want right now from your mate. Practice this vision over and over until it becomes a part of your expectation.
When your love of the reality feels truly fulfilling and your expectation for peace, love, and harmony becomes a knowingness (a firm level of absolute certainty) then your physical world will catch up to your emotional world.
This is when you will open your eyes to the change that has taken place and the materialization of your ideal relationship will be what you see! We all have relationships in our lives, whether it is with our significant other, our parents, our siblings, or our friends. While each relationship is unique, each of your relationships has a common thread. That common thread is the Law of Attraction.
Every person that is in your life is a reflection of your thoughts. Pretty amazing, isn’t it? To think that you attracted the crabby postal worker that waited on you yesterday. But you also are responsible for bringing your mate to you as well. So how can we improve upon the relationships that are part of us? By being aware of our thoughts and feelings about ourselves and others.
With the Law of Attraction, feeling good about yourself is the first step in improving your relationships. The rule of the Law of Attraction states that any thing you focus on will come into being, via the Universe, and come knocking on your doorstep. For example: If you focus on a lack of love, the Universe will match your feeling and thought and bring you what you are concentrating on, lack of love through situations and people. If you focus on a loving relationship, then the Universe will match your feelings and thoughts and once again bring you what you are focusing on, a loving relationship.
So why does feeling good about yourself help improve relationships? Because when you have an inner feeling of love (and focus on that), situations and people that have a similar feeling of love will be brought to you. By your accepting who you are, others will accept you for who you are. The relationships that you want to improve will improve if you feel those feelings that you want the others in your life to feel about you. You know that old saying, “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” By having this attitude, every relationship in your life will improve, even if it doesn’t need improving.
This does go for family members as well.
Even though you can’t fathom how you and your brother could ever get along, begin to see how you would like to be treated by him and then start treating him like you would like to be treated. Focus on the positive aspects of your relationship and see your relationship as improving in the manner you would like. When you do this, the Universe picks up on those thoughts and feelings and brings to you exactly what you are focusing on.
So many people say that if they had the perfect relationship, money, career, and health, they would be happy. But it really is the other way around. When you are happy and enjoy every moment of life, then all your desires will come rushing in.
So enjoy the people in your life and treat them like you would want to be treated. When you begin this process some of them may fall by the wayside because they are no longer in alignment with what you want, but others will begin to become kind of the person that you want to have a relationship with. But it must start with you, through the Law of Attraction. Continue Reading »Since the vastly popular movie, The Secret burst onto the scene a few years ago, millions of people everywhere have been trying to figure out how to use this “Law of Attraction” thing to manifest more prosperity, love and success into their lives. Many watched Oprah’s shows featuring several individuals who used this “Law” to totally transform their lives. The problem was that many of these viewers became frustrated when it they couldn’t figure out how to use the Law of Attraction and did not have the same results as those featured in the movie and on Oprah. Ultimately many dismissed it as just “wishful thinking.” What most seekers don’t understand is that they are already using the Law of Attraction. Unfortunately, most are using it unconsciously and attracting everything they don’t want. Even techniques taught in The Secret (like repeating positive affirmations and visualizing prosperity) don’t seem to be bringing you the prosperity, success, or love that you really want. Is this happening to you? Or, maybe you’ve got the Law of Attraction thing down. You understand how it works and have perhaps manifested some small blessing in your life. Still, you wonder why you keep experiencing the same challenges over and over in that “problematic” area of your life. Let’s explore why that might be, and learn how you can utilize this powerful force to attract what you do want…in every area of your life. In science, the law of attraction refers to a chemical affinity or a physical condition where “like attracts like.” Not unlike the laws of physical science, the law of attraction is very real and works in our experience exactly the same way. How? Well, because the universe is fundamentally energy. We are, therefore, fundamentally energy and our thoughts are fundamentally energy. Our predominate thoughts and our “emotionally charged” thoughts actually emit frequencies science can measure. These frequencies attract like experience in our outer world. It’s all energy. One is the inner, the other is the outer. You are, therefore, attracting to yourself in physical form and experience the vibrational equivalent of your beliefs. Your present “reality” is comprised of your beliefs “in form.” There’s a catch here however…something most who teach about the Law of Attraction don’t talk about … There is not sufficient energy in your occasional beliefs, your repeated affirmations, or what you are picturing during visualization to manifest as form in your experience. There simply isn’t. What does have the energy to manifest are your deeply held beliefs…and they do. You are attracting into your life experiences and conditions that match your deeply held “core beliefs.” Techniques such as repeating positive affirmations or visualization do not, on their own, transform these core beliefs. What do I mean by deeply held core beliefs? I mean your personal world view — which you keep alive by your attitudes and perceptions as you interact with the world. Some examples might be: “The only truly wealthy people are those born into it.” Or, “It’s only who you know that matters.” Or, “The older you get the harder it is to find true love.” Or, “You’ve got to be really smart or clever to earn lots of money (and I’m not).” Or, “All good things come to an end.” These are not conscious beliefs, mind you. They live in the dark recesses of your subconscious. Compounding the problem is that we live in a world that continually tells us we are limited, that there’s not enough to go around and that we are victims of fate and at the mercy of an unkind world. Discovering and transforming these limiting core beliefs is absolutely essential if you want to manifest a more expansive and abundant life. The good news is that you can do it. This is totally in your power. The reality is that it takes some work. However, I’ve come up with a 3-step plan that will make that “work” a little easier…and very effective. Practice these three keys and watch as the floodgates open and an abundance of love, joy, prosperity and success pours into your life. Continue Reading »If you are like me, and were totally intrigued by “the Secret” DVD/book, were you able to take what you learned and apply it immediately to your every day life? I have to admit I was skeptical. It is (or was) my nature. But instead of being my normal self, I decided to dig a little deeper, and listen/read it over and over again. The one thing that kept repeating itself to me was this: “If you don’t like the results in your life, then you need to change your thoughts”. Sounds ridiculously easy, and yet why can’t we do just that? This is the whole premise of “the Law of Attraction”. This is what positive thinking can do for you.
It all makes sense, when you really think about it. Have you ever woken up in the morning, stubbed your toe on the bed, cut yourself in the shower, spilled your coffee, and the whole time you are thinking or saying to yourself, “this is going to be a bad day. I can tell already”. Well, OF COURSE IT IS. You keep telling yourself that, and it will be done. Amazing how our brains work and then send that message out into the universe. Now what if you woke up, and said to yourself, “I am grateful for this warm bed that I sleep in, for the roof over my head, for the food in my belly, for my friends, for my dogs, etc..” Isn’t that just a better way to start the day – by sending out positive thoughts out into the universe?
So in order to take advantage of what is no longer “the Secret”, but common knowledge, you need to take a look at your life as a whole. Take a look at every little thing/thought that comes into your day/your mind. Reverse the way you talk to yourself, if you find that you speak negatively or think negatively constantly. Try the opposite and see what happens. Immediately, you will see people responding to you differently. Depending on the depth of your negative thoughts/feelings, some might even be wondering if there is something wrong with you. But have no fear, because as you continue to alter the thoughts in your head, and the words that flow out of your mouth, those same words/thoughts are being tossed out in to the universe and will come back to you ten-fold.
One of the great tenants of the Law of Attraction is to be grateful on a daily basis. Yes, I know – be grateful when I hate my job, my kids drive me crazy, I have debt, etc? Yes, because people who show and exclaim their gratitude display to the universe that they are open to receiving even more. And even though some may not be in the spot where they would like to be at this time in their lives, everyone should be grateful for something, shouldn’t they? Clothes on your back, shoes on your feet, food in your stomach, transportation, clean water, etc. Especially in this country, we have so much more than most to be grateful for. It’s the little things that amount to even larger things in the end. Allow that to come to you by opening up to the universe.
This world of ours would be such a happier place if more people worked hard on using the Law of Attraction. It would be a kinder, more giving universe. Imagine the possibilities. Continue Reading »The Secret has been an inspiration to thousands of people and it really enhanced people’s awareness of the Law of Attraction.
One woman who had been suffering from chronic illness and excruciating pain for years used the underlying message of the secret – the power of the Law of Attraction when consciously used to our advantage to transform her life.
This is the story of Jenny Mannion who used the Law of Attraction to heal herself from chronic pain.
For nearly eight years Jennifer experienced chronic pain and was diagnosed and misdiagnosed on numerous occasions. She was in so much pain that at times she could barely walk. She went through a period when she was fainting almost weekly – sometimes in the shower.
Later when she had children this became an even bigger concern. It was such a struggle to care for her two beautiful children when she was struggling just to get through the day.
She suffered insomnia because of the excruciating pain and because she wasn’t getting sufficient sleep it impaired her body’s ability to heal itself. She lacked energy and vitality. It was a vicious cycle.
In her book, “How I Use the Law of Attraction to Heal Myself from Chronic Pain”, she says that:
“I was so sad and so aware of my pain every step I took. I was 36 and imagined I felt as a 96 year old would feel on a bad day.”
She endured scan after scan, blood test, after blood test. The doctors finally concluded that Jennifer had Benign Hypermobility Syndrome (BHMS) except that there was nothing benign about what this illness was doing to her body.
And the prognosis was not good – a lifetime of medication plus she might end up in a wheel chair. She was relieved to finally have a label to apply to what she had been experiencing but also devastated.
What’s more she realized that she had become her illness.
She was told that basically she would never regain her health and counselled to hold a small funeral to formally bid goodbye to her old self. She felt that she couldn’t sink any lower.
Then, something miraculous happened. A friend had suggested that Jennifer watch the movie “The Secret” and her husband bought the DVD for them to watch in Christmas 2006.
She was so exhausted from her illness that she couldn’t even watch the movie the whole way through the first time. The second viewing was more successful and by the end of the movie Jennifer made a decision. She decided that:
“I WILL heal myself of pain.”
And she did but what is so miraculous about Jennifer’s story is that having been ill for nearly eight years she was able to almost completely heal herself within a few short weeks. What was critical to Jennifer’s recovery was her realization that the body is continually renewing itself.
However, she had been focusing on her illness so much that the blueprint she was providing her mind was that of sick body. She recognized that she had to provide her mind with a healthier blueprint to work from.
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

She said that within days of shifting her focus she began to feel much better. If just her little finger was pain-free then she focused on that. She took it as evidence that her body was fundamentally healthy.
In fact, Jennifer devised an eight-step process for self-healing which she strictly adheres to.
“I had to keep myself immersed in the Law of Attraction teachings so as not to go back to my negative ways. I had to make myself find the time for self-reflection, meditation and learning no matter what else seemed to be demanding of my time.”
She is aiming to use her system which has the acronym “PAGING ME” to help her ditch the last remaining drug that she still has to take.
Jennifer says that now she is able to accomplish more in a day than she used to be able to accomplish in a week and that her relationships with her husband and children have also been transformed.
Jennifer is living proof of the awesome potential of the Law of Attraction and that miracles can and do happen.
